story
When Cynthia was just a child, her desire to cook, nurture and feed the masses was nurtured and inspired by her beautiful Italian grandmother. She cherishes the memories of her grandmother and all the preparations Grandma put into the mandatory Sunday meal. She would start days ahead and prepare a meal of multiple entrees, many side dishes and a selection of desserts that made both the children and adults happy, much like what Cynthia does today. The kitchen table was a sheet of pasta dough and Cynthia and her Grandma use to cut and mold the fresh pasta to go with the marinara sauce that had been on the stove for hours already. Once lunch was served, the clean up would begin in preparation for dinner in a few hours.
This was her inspiration and a start of something big. Cynthias journeys were supported by her working in the restaurant industry, both in the back and front of the house. She made her way through Europe on money earned as a bartender here and spent time in a few kitchens there so as to make her way home.
Her next stop would be the San Francisco Art Institute where she studied painting and drawing. You can see Cynthias creativity explode as you watch her create beautiful tables and trays now using food as the medium. She made her way through school working as a waitress and prep cook. After her schooling, and with visions of grandeur in her head, she made her way to NYC and eventually left the art world behind and found her passion for food brewing again.
Opening a restaurant in Manhattan with a few friends was a dream come true. A lot of hard work, and few broken dreams later, Cynthia made her way to the East End. Food and cooking was a thing she tried to stay away from, but her love, knowledge, professional expertise and passion led her into creating a catering company that is 11 years running.
Her food shows her
diversity as she has traveled about the globe learning from cooks and chefs she admired. She is self taught and feels that has much merit as you learn from many, take knowledge and skills from a few and carry away with you the best. Cynthia always keeps the student in her alive so she has the ability to make your business and food interesting and fresh all the time.
